Since 1868, eminent doctors from universities across the UK have officially opened the Session by delivering the Inaugural Address on their specialist subject. This is also the occasion of the swearing in of the year’s Senior President.
This year, we were delighted to welcome Dr Edward Duvall, Chairman of the RMS Trust, and Mr Iain Milne, Sibbald Librarian of the Royal College of Physicians, to deliver our Inaugural Address on the history of the Royal Medical Society. The talk was followed by a wine and cheese reception and was open to both members and non-members of the RMS.
The speaker for 2018 is TBC.
