It is time to celebrate the wonderful life of our favourite poet, Rabbie Burns, with whiskey, poems, and a little dancing.
On Tuesday the 24th of January, at 7pm, we will be hosting a very fine traditional Scottish meal (which just wouldn’t be complete without haggis) followed by numerous speeches from council members and our special guests. These include the ‘Immortal Memory’ – a tribute to Burns’ life and work – a very lively reading of ‘Tam o’ Shanter’, and, my personal favourite, the toasts to the laddies and lassies. Following this we have a ceilidh till the wee small hours and dance the night away. Sound good? But of course it does.
This kind of thing is, to my mind, almost compulsory for those who aren’t from Scotland. And those who are would rarely pass one up anyway. You have no excuses for missing this!
Tickets are ONLY £15, which includes:
- Sparkling wine reception
- Haggis Neeps and Tatties
- Shortbread and whisky
- ALL of your drinks
- A wonderful ceilidh
Tickets are available from the RMS office (above Potterrow) everyday from 12 till 5.
